You have questions and we have answers

Check out some of the common questions people have about pest control. Need to ask something else? Give us a call!

How do I prepare for a roach treatment spray?

Clean everything really well before we spray. You don’t want to wash away any of the chemical after we spray. You need to clean out all of your cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom areas. Set everything in the center of the room, and replace your things in the cabinets after the spray has dried, usually 3 to 4 hours. Only clean the areas after we spray with a dry paper towel

Do I need to do anything to prepare for a roach bait treatment?

No, you do not need to empty cabinets or move anything prior to our baiting for roaches. Our professionals will place the bait where it will be most effective and where small children and pets cannot get to it.

How do I prepare for a flea and tick treatment?

First you need to pick up anything on the floor that can be picked up – shoes, pillows, papers, toys, etc. We will absolutely not spray around toys. We will need to spray as much floor space as possible, so we need to get under the beds and in the closets. Vacuum all the floor space and empty the bag. Pets and people must be out and off of the chemical for 3 to 4 hours. It is also most effective if you have your pets treated at the same time.

Will I need to leave my residence after you spray?

This will depend on what pest we are spraying for and other factors. For instance, if we are spraying for roaches, you need not leave the treated area unless you have asthma or breathing problems. We also recommend that infants and pregnant women be out 3 to 4 hours just to be on the safe side.

If we are treating for bed bugs or fleas then yes, pets and people must be out and off of the chemical 3 to 4 hours. No exceptions!

What’s the difference between a fiddleback and brown recluse spider?

There is no difference. In fact, these are the same exact pest, although many people believe these are two different and distinct arachnids.

Why do I see more roaches after you spray?

Roaches are great at hide-and-seek! They love to live and multiply in your walls and other dark places. Typically the roaches you see are just the tip of the iceberg. The liquid chemical we use to treat roaches has a drawing agent, which pulls them out of their hiding places. They must come out and get into the chemical for it to be effective, meaning yes, you are going to see many more roaches than you did before we sprayed.
